Open Letter To Conservatives: Stop Looking Forward To 2020

Too often as I go down my newsfeed on Facebook and even elsewhere on the internet, I find conservatives, and some activists across the board, feeling down and trying to be chipper. But it is not in a healthy manner.

They post and commiserate on how terrible this past year, this presidential primary was. And after they moan they move onto, “(insert potential candidate here) will be back in 2020 and will crush it!” And to these antics I say please stop.

Stop posting, stop commenting how this year is a wash, how all hope is lost and we should just look to the next presidential election. That is what has been done for years and do you know where this defeatist attitude has lead us? To a crushing debt, liberal policies being placed into law and the fear of the Supreme Court being taken over by activist liberal justices.

But does this crowd shake it off, stop crying and stand up? Not that I have seen. I include pundits in this, like Glenn Beck, for encouraging this nonsense defeatist behavior that has lead to eight years of Obama. Because the truth is the “perfect” candidate, much like the “perfect” man sought after in novels and film does not exist. We are humans and come with imperfections. And instead of accepting someones imperfections and weakness, we’d rather live in a happy future where our candidate is the nominee or the president. We get all fussy and “I told you so” when conservatives lose elections. But what have you done?

So I plead with you, to please end this defeatist attitude and help us stop another four years of liberal leadership. This time is not a joke, and if we screw up this year, we might not have an election four years down the road to make you feel better. We are looking at the potential for a liberal majority on the Supreme Court that will set our nation back for a generation or more. With the continuing assault of freedom of speech, religious liberty and the 2nd amendment we cannot afford to either sit out this election or encourage others to sit out or not vote with this negative and defeatist tone and actions.

It is time to step up and win this election. Donald Trump has to win this election, not because he is the best candidate. Trust me, he wasn’t in my top 5 candidates in the primary, but he is who we have. And right now he is this nations best and possibly last hope at stopping the Clintons and the liberals from taking the white house for another 4 years and furthering the divide that Obama has created.

Why I May Write-In Rick Santorum On April 26th

I feel that most may concur with my sentiments that this primary season has been eventful and rather, in a word, depressing.  We started out the primary season with many candidates, quite a number of them are great conservatives.  And now we are left with a liberal lite RINO, a tyrannical blowhard and a snobby less than pure conservative junior senator.

I, like others, had great hopes when we entered this race.  Where have we gone so horribly wrong?  It seems that the Republican parties failed policies and continued push on voters to “give us the majority in the House” and “give us the majority in the senate” and thing will get done.  To only have been met with “Well we tried, and Obama won’t let us do anything, so give us the presidency too!”  Voters and formerly staunch supporters of certain candidates who have strong conservative records and lists of accomplishments have all become so disillusioned that candidates like Donald Trump and Ted Cruz became the poster children of their crushed feelings and animosity toward the party.

Not that I am defending the party leadership, but there is a rather large difference in supporting a genuine, winning candidate with a conservative record whom the party somewhat dislikes and someone who is outright vile and thinks calling people out in public after private discussions is hard core and inspiring.  In one leap and bound we have gone from peaceful activism to full out assault on the party leaders and refuses to work with anyone.

In 2012 I was a staunch supporter and volunteer for Rick Santorum, so joining agains this past time was a no brainer for me.  He had a strong record of accomplishments, getting conservative legislation passed while working with his colleagues on his side of the isle and across.  A deep understanding of foreign policy and immigration, he should have been a shoe in after coming in 2nd behind Romney.  But the field flooded, and others saw the affect of his message and took bits that they claimed for themselves, Trump essentially took Rick’s whole blue collar message and morphed it and voiced in his bombastic way.  Cruz, after taking Rick’s hard line immigration policies went from a C on Numbers USA and now has an A+.

I have been thinking and praying hard about since after Rick dropped and I switched to supporting Rubio, who then also dropped out the next month.  It leaves me with pondering what will let my conscience rest easiest, knowing that I used my vote and voice. The primary process for me has always been a way for me to vote for my candidate no matter what happened prior to.  I voted for Rick in 2012 even though he had dropped out the previous week, and he still was competitive and took 2nd place over Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich who were still running.  I’m not saying that is what will happen this time, as a write-in that is highly unlikely.

I just know that for me, writing in my candidate keeps my conscience clear, especially when I feel that none of the three candidates running are really deserving of my vote in the primary.  Call me crazy, but this is my firmly held belief.  The general will be different, but in the primary my vote will always go to the true conservative with the best record.

Why I Am Done With Conservative Pundits & Fox News

It has been almost one year since the presidential race formally began with the first candidate entrance into the fray. A lot has happened, fights, entrances and drop outs, and a crazier race that most didn’t think would happen.

In comparison to past election years, this has been the most vile and vicious, as candidates, pundits and individuals have gone at each other, most coming out on the other side divided. And I have to say that I feel more disappointed and divided then ever. I have watched an entire TV station, and political pundits who once did their due diligence and fact checked and where responsible, swirl the drain of mediocrity and throw away their integrity in an instant.

I have watched as Glenn Beck went from listening to all candidates, supporting those who best represent us. To defending Ted Cruz without reason or facts. He ran to his defense when the claim was made that he wanted to federalize homeschooling. Which is partially not true, but when you want the government to give money towards homeschooling, you put yourself on the road to the government stepping in and federalizing it.

Sean Hannity, who I have tolerated for years, and sometimes appreciated. Has fallen head over heels for Trump and I cannot understand why someone can just throw away their beliefs and values like that.

I see people cover for Trump’s insane behavior, mock Rubio for one joke, cover up Cruz’s dirty campaign tricks against his competitors. The insanity reaches new heights with each passing day.

And the cherry on top is Fox News going from partially fair and balanced, to Trump’s personal news station. Every time he puts out a presser or an event, I see them cover either all of it or for 15 minutes to a half hour. I have never seen one candidate get such undivided attention. I was volunteer and supporter of Rick Santorum, Herman Cain and others for a long time, and never have I seen a full presser or event play on TV. They usually just cut out after they’ve seen enough of them or gotten what they believe was the real meat of story and got what they wanted.

Another stretch of insanity has been watching Breitbart.com, Drudge and other conservative news sites, fall so hard for a candidate that they post smear attacks of their own and put them in big bold headlines on their front pages. Never has there been such a blatant lack of fact checking and integrity in journalism in the conservative sphere for as long as I have been involved in politics. Sites that where once devoted to the truth and honest reporting, write up crap and peddle half truths as the truth in defense of their candidate.

This is why I am swearing off of these so called unbiased conservative pundits and sites. And if this goes anywhere, I would just say to Glenn Beck and conservative media in general. This is why your websites and TV stations or tanking. You no longer represent or report the truth.

I will return when you’ve admitted your wrongs and have gone back to fact based, unbiased reporting. Until then I’ll be watching CNN, I at least know where they stand.

Why Rick Santorums & Bobby Jindals Endorsement Is Huge For Marco Rubio

Santorum - Jindal endorsement pic.png

This week Marco Rubio received two endorsements from prominent politicians and former presidential candidates.  The first is former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, and the second is Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.  These are major get’s for Rubio and I will tell you why.

Since Rubio announced, conservative personalities and his fellow presidential candidates have gone after Marco’s record, calling him an establishment man and that he is for full throated amnesty.  Something that is false but has been peddled by some as the truth.

The records of both Jindal and Santorum, respectively as a US senator and a governor, are very conservative.  From Santorum being the only legislator to pass welfare reform and sponsoring and shepherding every pro-life bill that has become law.  And Jindal’s accomplishment in cutting Louisiana’s taxes six times in eight years, including making Louisiana’s property tax one of the lowest in the US at 0.18%, and after being appointed secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals were he cut $400 million in medicare expenses.  And the two of them stand firm on the issues of pro-life, pro-marriage and for years have been outspoken leaders in defense of our Constitutional freedoms.

Their respective endorsement of Rubio is a firm indicator of Jindal’s and Santorum’s belief that Marco Rubio is the most qualified in the current field of candidates, and that he is the right conservative with the message and vision to lead.  Since Iowa, people have certainly given him another look; and now with the endorsement of weathered and well known conservative fighters and reformers, still undecided voters and supporters of former candidates are certain to gravitate toward Marco.  And there is the possibility that they will encourage others to switch their support.

Going into New Hampshire and South Carolina, the momentum is firmly behind Marco Rubio.  And if conservatives continue to endorse and lineup behind him in the days to come, and advocate for him, as Rick and Bobby have done.  Than we may soon see Marco clinch the nomination.

Below are the videos of the endorsement of both Rick Santorum and Bobby Jindal:
